How many lessons do I need to pass the road test?
For those who adapt quickly to the driving environment or have previous driving experience, around 6 to 8 lessons should be adequate. However, if you feel less comfortable or are uneasy with traffic, consider taking additional practice sessions to build your confidence and skills.
I have a Driver License from other country, can I use it here?
You can drive up to 90 days if you have a License from other country. If you have a valid home country driver’s license and a certified translation of your license if not in English, by an ICBC approved translator…if your country is not listed, please check ICBC’s website, you will need to pass a knowledge, and the road test.
My learner’s Driver License will expire soon. Can I renew it?
You cannot renew a Learner’s Driver’s License. You have to take the computer knowledge test again, and that passing grade is only good for 2 years.
Can my parents sit in on the car training?
Our insurance policy only covers the instructor and the student during the in-car sessions. No exception. It also will be a distraction if a third party is present in the vehicle.
Who will book my road test?
We recommend that you book your own road test. It's as easy as using this link on our website, or directly on ICBC’s website. Top Drivers is not responsible for booking any tests.
Where will I get picked up for my in-car lessons?
Our instructors will pick you up from your home, school, and workplaces. If you have a preferred alternate location, bus or sky train stations, speak to your instructor and they may be able to work something out, extra charge may applied if outside of city’s boundary.
Can I pass driving test without professional driving lessons?
Yes, it is possible to do so, though the likelihood of passing will be significantly lower than a test candidate who has lessons from a professional driving instructor. Please keep in mind that a road test booking is normally few months wait time.
Can I use the instructor’s car for the road test even if I’m not a student?
Yes, you may rent the car for your road test. Please refer to our (Rates), and road test package.
